Become by Being: Reflection Journal (Sample pages)

When was the last time you reflected on who you are in Christ? How are you being faithful and using what God gave you?

Who you are - who God created you to be before you were formed - already exists inside of you. God told Jeremiah that He had already appointed him a prophet to people. Even when the Lord declared to Jeremiah his identity, Jeremiah refuted what God knew with a list of disqualifications. Jeremiah, just like us, saw himself through his natural eyes.

Unaware, Jeremiah's entire life was training ground in faithfulness for who he was already. His daily routines, tasks, and obligations were preparing him for His assignment.  Where his speaking skills were insufficient, the Lord touched his mouth, anointing him with the power and skills needed to win the battle and succeed in the mission. 

Becoming who God created you to be doesn't require hustling and striving in your own strength. It requires God's, and leaning into what's currently woven into your unique design.

You see, becoming is less about what you don't have, less about doing, and more about being. It's about being faithful in the unassuming tasks, hobbies, interests, and obligations in your life. Being obedient to God, to the inner tug, the call you may be suppressing because it seems meaningless or odd to the people closest to you.
